Rev. James Jones, pastor of People’s Temple Christian Church, will be guest speaker Friday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, Father and Son Banquet.

Expected to draw many fathers and sons, the affair will be held in the church dining room sponsored by the junior high Department of the church school. Mrs. Virtea Downey is department superintendent.

Rev. Jones, who serves his church without salary, is executive secretary of the Mayor’s Human Rights Commission. He is pastor of an interracial church which feeds more than 2,000 weekly at the church restaurant.

Special musical numbers will be rendered by the Mt. Paran Male Chorus.
Guest violinist will be Walter F. Norwalt of Faith Baptist Church. Gilbert Morphis, a member of the Junior High Department, will be toastmaster.

Awards will be presented the father with the most sons present, the youngest and the oldest fathers. All fathers and Sons are invited to attend. Reservations may be made at the church.

Dr. C.H. Bell is minister. Mrs. Bernice Head is general superintendent.
