We were happy to receive the hand of fellowship with others at the People’s Temple, 1502 North New Jersey street, last Sunday afternoon and witness some of the miracle works of God through Rev. James W. Jones. Perhaps some folk scoff at the idea of miracles today, or even of healing manifestations, but they scoff in ignorance.

Rev. Jones is doing a splendid job in integrating services and with his free fellowship dinners at noon, and 5, at which time approximately 100 persons of many races, creeds and religious beliefs break bread together. There is such a cheerful atmosphere at the Temple, and the friendliness of all who attend tends to fuse everyone into one happy family.

When you can learn that peace comes from within, and that there is only one race, the HUMAN RACE, when we can stop seeing the color of one’s skin and see an individual as a human being and treat him as such, or as we would have him treat us, then there can be a lasting peace. Peace begins at home and spreads abroad.

Mrs. Sadie Lyles was guest soloist at the afternoon service and also for the evening service, during which beautiful and impressive baptismal rites were held. Mother Lyles reported that one family were baptized together, the members entering the pool in the regular dress clothes.

How many would realize the significance of this denial of the material? Denial of one’s self is the first requisite of true Christianity.
