Jim Jones was marginally connected with the Pentecostal minister William M. Branham, an influencer of the Latter Rain Movement. Branham held revivals and conventions throughout North America. Featured in these services were healings, speaking in tongues and various other miracles.
The high point of Jones’ connection with Branham was the “World Convention of Pentecostal Churches” in 1957 that Jones hosted at the 10,000 seat Cadle Tabernacle in Indianapolis.
The sermon was performed at the Chicago Convention in September of 1956. A partial transcript was published in The Herald of Faith newsletter in December 1956.
